Manchester United turned the match against Atalanta and won 3:2 thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal. This win puts the English team at the top of Group F ahead of the Italian team.
Atalanta felt the so-called Csaplar trap on Thursday night. It won the first half, but in the end it did not take a point and went home empty-handed.
The match was going well for the Italians, with Mario Pasalic scoring in the 15th minute and when Merih Demiral added his team’s second goal 14 minutes later, many believed in scoring points and even winning.
But coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer didn’t seem to praise his charges in the locker room and they started to play. In the 53rd minute, Marcus Rashford reduced the deficit and it was clear that the game was far from over.
In the 75th minute, Harry Maguire equalised and Cristiano Ronaldo sent the Manchester team into a 3-2 lead with a well-placed header.
Csaplar’s trap was thus completed and United took all three points. What interesting things happened in the Champions League matches played in parallel?
Bayern showed a final flurry, playing Benfica 0:0 until the 70th minute, but eventually celebrating a 4:0 victory. The same result was also the end of the match between Chelsea and Malmö.
Lille drew with Sevilla 0: 0, Young Boys Bern were unable to beat Villarreal at home, winning 4: 1. Zenit lost 0:1 at home to Juventus.
