Ronaldo player of the month! He scored three goals, but was he really better than Salah or Sarr?
Cristiano Ronaldo has been voted the best Premier League player for the month of September by the fans. In a packed competition with Allan Saint-Maximin or Mohamed Salah, he won this award within the first month of his return to the Isles.
Cristiano Ronaldo has been voted the best Premier League player for the month of September by the fans. In a packed competition with Allan Saint-Maximin or Mohamed Salah, he won this award within the first month of his return to the Isles.
Cristiano Ronaldo caught on quickly in Manchester. He scored twice in his first game. Against Newcastle, he gave a good performance, but it must be noted that both goals went beyond goalkeeper Freddie Woodman.
A week later, Tomáš Souček and Vladimír Coufal felt the Portuguese’s qualities for the first time in their lives. Ronaldo scored an important goal to make it 1:1, then helped the team break the game in the setup.
In the third and final round in September, he came up empty. But against Aston Villa, the Red Devils got nothing at all (0: 1).
In September, the winner of five Ballon d’Ors scored three league goals, in addition to two in the Champions League. The award for the best player of the month is well deserved.
Still, the other nominees deserve at least a mention. Ismailla Sarr scored three goals for Watford, Conor Gallagher was voted Crystal Palace’s Player of the Month for the second time in a row, Allan Saint-Maximin also did well.
Antonio Rudiger and Joao Cancelo gave excellent performances in the Chelsea and Manchester City defensive lines respectively, and Mohamed Salah is not worth writing about, the numbers speak for him (3+0 in September).
