Cristiano Ronaldo, even at 36, is scoring a lot of goals. According to his agent, the infamous Jorge Mendes, no one deserves to win the Ballon d’Or like him. What’s more, he says the Portuguese has never deserved it more.
The Portuguese star has scored goal after goal at both national and club level. Moreover, Cristiano Ronaldo keeps breaking more and more records.
That is why his agent Jorge Mendes believes he should win the Ballon d’Or, the award for the best footballer on the planet.
“Cristiano Ronaldo’s numbers and statistics say it all. In my opinion, they should be enough to win another Ballon d’Or,” Mendes is clear.
“He has already scored 115 goals for the national team, making him the all-time top scorer in national football. He is the top scorer in the history of world football. He is, in short, the best footballer of all time, which should be taken into account,” continued the player’s agent in an interview with France Football.
Mendes is aware that this is an individual trophy. That’s why he didn’t forget to mention that Ronaldo has dominated the Serie A, the European Championships and also mentioned his record in the Champions League. He also pointed out that he had made his mark in three different countries.
“All this at the age of 36. He is adorned with an absolutely unique consistency, commitment and phenomenal ability to face obstacles. The Ballon d’Or simply has to go to Ronaldo. He has never deservedit more,” Mendes added.
Ronaldo is certainly not among the favourites. Players such as Jorginho, N’Golo Kanté, Robert Lewandowski and Lionel Messi are the most talked about in connection with winning the individual award.
