Cristiano Ronaldo has had a very interesting year in 2021. He was the top scorer in Serie A, he’s back at Old Trafford and he’s leading Manchester United in goals. But from a team perspective, it could have been better. It was the Red Devils’ results that the Portuguese complained about in a social media post.

Manchester United may have finished 2021 victorious, but no one at the club can be satisfied with their results, performances and position in the table. After all, Cristiano Ronaldo has also expressed his opinion accordingly, reviewing the entire calendar year on social media.

The Portuguese was Juventus’ top scorer for the whole year, even though he left for Manchester United in the summer. He is the top scorer in a Red Devils jersey during the current season.

So from a goalscoring point of view, he has had a successful year, even though he has often come under fire from critics for other aspects of his game.

“2021 was not an easy year, despite the fact that I scored 47 goals across all competitions. I am proud to have won the Italian Cup and the Super Cup with Juventus, to have been the top scorer in Serie A and the European Championships. Likewise, my return to Old Trafford will be one of the most iconic moments of my career,” Ronaldo wrote on Instagram.

“But I’m not happy with how Manchester United are doing. None of us are happy, I’m sure of that. We know we have to work harder, play better and perform much better than we have been performing. New Year’s Eve has to be the turning point of the season, let’s embrace 2022 with a stronger spirit and an even stronger mentality. Let’s get the club where it belongs,” added the Portuguese.

In conclusion, Ronaldo wished everyone the best of luck for 2022, in which he will try to improve his numbers. He has netted 14 goals in 21 games in a Red Devils jersey.
