Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo has been given permission by coach Erik ten Hag to find a new contract in the winter. Given his low workload, a transfer is very likely.
Cristiano Ronaldo is not having the best of times. Before the season, he was initially frustrated that his Manchester United didn’t qualify for the Champions League and that was one of the reasons why he instructed his agent to find him a new club.
But things didn’t go as he imagined. He received a firm rejection from a number of clubs and so he started the new season in a United jersey. And the star Portuguese rode the wrong wave with the team.
In the first two rounds United lost ignominiously, so coach Erik ten Hag decided to rotate the line-up and put club legend Cristiano Ronaldo on the bench. The other players got a kick out of it and Manchester started winning from then on.
But what about Ronaldo? He certainly didn’t come to Manchester to sit on the bench and the low minutes are quite logically weighing on him.
The team’s coach, Erik ten Hag, understands the Portuguese’s situation and therefore decided not to prevent him from making another transfer. However, everything depends on the player himself, who will have to find a new club on his own.
In the winter transfer window we could see another interesting transfer. Of course, Ronaldo would have preferred one of the big clubs playing in the Champions League, but now he will probably have to settle for a smaller club, where he will be able to play a key role again.
We must not forget the possible move to the MLS overseas.
