Three games and that’s it. Manchester United finally won again and were able to add an important three points to their Premier League account when they beat Brighton 2-0 on Tuesday night.

After a six-match silence, the team’s star Cristiano Ronaldo also made his presence felt.

The Portuguese striker was close to equalising his unflattering record. The longest wait for a goal in his career was 7 matches, the last time he didn’t enjoy a goal for so long was at the turn of 2008 and 2009.

After breaking his goal scoring jinx, he was understandably relieved. He then posted a clear message on social media.

“Never give up. There is only one way to get back on track,” the Portuguese is clear. Understandably, he highlights hard work and teamwork.

Words of praise for his star ward were penned by Manchester United’s interim coach Ralf Rangnick.

“His goal was amazing. Not only important, but also beautiful. Overall, Cristiano gave a great performance. It was definitely his best performance in the last weeks,” Rangnick said at the press conference.

Manchester United, however, will have their work cut out to stay in the top four. Sixth-placed Arsenal, who have three games to play, are only four points behind fourth place. Eighth-placed Tottenham, who have the same number of games to play, are seven points behind. Seventh-placed Wolves must also be reckoned with.
