Cristiano Ronaldo still hasn’t sorted out his future. With the winter transfer window approaching, talk of his future is once again starting to surface. However, his arrival has already been ruled out by Atlético Madrid. Why?
The Portuguese legend is definitely not one of Manchester United’s key players this season. It doesn’t look like that’s going to change either. After all, there was constant talk of a move away from Old Trafford in the summer, but it didn’t happen.
However, Cristiano Ronaldo could theoretically change destinations in the winter. At least there is a lot of speculation about it. There are even specific names of clubs where he could head. The most talked about is Ronaldo’s transfer to Inter Miami.
However, the summer has been full of speculation about a controversial move to Atlético Madrid, the city rival of the club of which he is a legend. The team’s management, however, dismissed such talk and nothing seems to have changed the situation.
Indeed, now the possible transfer of Ronaldo has been ruled out by coach Diego Simeone, who has explained, among other things, why it is out of the question for the Portuguese to be a home-grown player at the Wanda Metropolitano shrine.
“Cristiano and Atlético? Ronaldo is an absolute legend at Real Madrid. I can’t imagine, for example, Martin Palermo or Juan Roman Riquelme playing for River Plate or Ariel Ortega playing for Bocu Juniors,” Simeone told Tigo Sports.
Ronaldo played for Real Madrid between 2009 and 2018, taking care of 450 goals in 438 matches. He won the league twice with the royal club, and managed to lead the team to victory in the Champions League four times.
