Rodrigo: I had an agreement with Barcelona, but then Real came calling. We miss Casemiro very much

Rodrygo is one of the most important players of Real Madrid at the moment, but it wouldn’t take much for him to wear the jersey of their biggest rival. How close was the Brazilian to signing with Barcelona?

“I had agreed everything with Barcelona, it was a surprise, I didn’t expect Real Madrid to get involved. It was a shock, but it was one of the happiest moments of my life,” Rodrygo told Goal.

“I had a choice of two jerseys in front of me – one of Barcelona and one of Real Madrid and I had to choose. It was a really easy choice for me,” recalls the young Brazilian.

At Real Madrid, he found teammates Vinícius and Milito, with whom he shares the dressing room in the national team. The young Brazilian starlets were supervised by another Canaries representative Casemiro, who is already playing for Manchester United. And his absence is noticeable in the locker room.

“We miss him in everything, really in everything. We really miss him because he always helped us a lot, both on and off the pitch. We are still young and have a lot to learn and Case, like Marcelo, was with us for a long time and now we really miss him,” Rodrygo regrets Casemiro’s departure.
