While Robert Bryczek made the reigning champion very happy, Patrik Kincl was excited to see an exciting new challenge. Bryczek was an opponent who was going to test him properly. But as happy as the Pole made the Czech by winning against the Pirate, he let him down.

The Polish puncher preferred to go to the UFC before his title fight in the Octagon, where he was to face Jacob Malkoun. But the fight didn’t happen, and that was because of Bryczek. He didn’t get a visa and the fight had to be cancelled.

“I’m not happy with the way he turned out, but I’m afraid his career has hit the wall in a terrible way,” said Oktagon boss Ondrej Novotny on the Flight Through the World MMA podcast. He himself wished the Polish fighter to succeed.

“Plus, the UFC sucks so bad when you tell them something that’s not true, so waiting for a European card for Bryczek means a fight in the UFC in March at the earliest. Plus, he’s not on the roster for them in Europe, he’s a nobody for them to be pissed off about,” the Oktagon promoter added.

Bryczek and the UFC debut

There was speculation about a return to the Oktagon, but a change has come. The UFC has decided to give the Polish fighter a second chance and it’s unclear when we’ll see him in the cage again.

Bryczek will be seen in his UFC debut on February 10, when the Las Vegas event called UFC Fight Night: Hermansson vs. Pyfer. And who will be his opponent?

In February, we’ll have a Polish-Russian battle as he measures off against Albert Duraev. The 24-year-old Russian will be a big challenge, having won 16 fights so far and only coming away defeated on five occasions.

The last time we saw him in the cage was in July when he was able to choke out South Korea’s Jun Yong Park in the second round. Will the Polish slugger make his debut and add another red box to his wrestling record?
