Reverberations from the final: even after the hegemon’s elimination, Leverkusen is not going to challenge for the title. Bayern are consumed by anger and frustration, Tuchel criticises away rule

Xabi Alonso’s men destroyed the Bavarians 3-0 in Saturday’s first-place match. What’s being said after the battle?
It’s February, the Bundesliga is in its second half and Bayern Munich are not in first place. What’s more, they are five points behind the competition leader. That’s Bayer Leverkusen, who swept the Bavarian side 3-0 in Saturday’s showdown for the top of the table.
Xabi Alonso tactically completely obliterated Thomas Tuchel. Yet the club, long a laughing stock and nicknamed Neverkusen for its inability to win trophies, is still not thinking about the title. Or rather, it’s not being talked about.
Leverkusen has historically won three trophies. They won the second league in 1979, the UEFA Cup in 1988 and the German Cup in 1992/93. While the last few seasons confirmed his ambitions, they were also loudly talked about. But few people expected Bayer to win the title this year.
There are 13 rounds left in the competition and Alonso’s charges, have the whole situation in their hands. They still haven’t once tasted the bitterness of defeat. They have the best defence in the league, the second best attack after Bayern.
There is a great sense of peace in the team. It shows in the mood, the results and the performance. If Leverkusen go for the title, it will be a great sensation.
What is being said after Leverkusen vs. Bayern?
Leverkusen won smoothly 3: 0. The goals were scored by Josip Stanišić, who is on loan from Bayern, Alejandro Grimaldo and Jeremie Frimpong.
Of all the scorers, the first one is the most talked about in the media. In particular, the coach of the Munich team has complained loudly about the fact that he was able to play at all.
“There is a beautiful rule in England. If you send a player away, he can’t play against you. It makes sense to me. In Germany, unfortunately, this rule does not exist,” journalist Fabrizio Romano quotes Thomas Tuchel as saying.
Frustration and anger now dominate Bavaria. Fans are calling for the end of Tuchel. Banners are already appearing in training facilities with a clear message. Increasingly, the senseless sacking of the talented Julian Nagelsmann is being met with incomprehension.
The legendary Thomas Müller in particular was very angry after the loss. Perhaps no man embodies the DNA of Bayern like him. In his post-match interview, he showed great emotion. If everyone had that passion, the game would probably have been different.
“I’m extremely angry. We show a better attitude in training because we are free in training. That’s what our game is lacking. Look at Leverkusen. Not every move is planned. They just play football. It’s not about the coach. We also have to talk about us, about the players,” he expressed.
And what’s going on at Leverkusen? It’s alive on the club’s social media, it will be alive for a while. But otherwise, we will not find any grandiose or even extremely confident statements. On the contrary.
“We will talk about the title in May. Now we have to be realistic, keep our feet on the ground. We wanted to be competitive and we did a great job. The discipline and compactness of the team was excellent. Theoverall performance was great, the commitment was tremendous, everyone did great,” Xabi Alonso was heard to say.
“All the players performed superbly. We created a lot of chances and, on the other hand, allowed almost none to the opponent. I have a great team. We have a lot of energy and that’s the key. It’s not a secret. Theplayers believe in themselves and that’s what we want,” he added.
