Embiid has scored 41 points since his return
In the Philadelphia 76ers vs. Houston Rockets (124:115), Joel Embiid got off to a high start in his first game back from a knee injury and proved that he is still the best scorer this season. He scored 41 points for Houston and grabbed 10 rebounds. He was the biggest driving force in the 76ers’ important win.
In addition, he recorded his 16th straight game with at least 30 points and 10 rebounds. Embiid was complemented by the team’s second-leading scorer Tyrese Maxey, who added 27 points.
Embiid didn’t play in three games as Philadelphia had a 1-2 record without him. Joel slightly increased his lead at the top of the scorers’ table again this season with an impressive average of 34.6 points per game. He’s going for his third straight scoring crown.
Irving and Hardaway led the Mavericks to victory
In the game Dallas Mavericks vs New Orleans Pelicans (125:120), without star Doncic, the Dallas players were happy, who outplayed the Pelicans thanks to the great interplay of Kyrie Irving and Tim Hardaway, who took care of the full 83 points of the team.
Irving scored 42 points for New Orleans and Hardaway scored just one less. Thus, both players contributed to 83 points out of 125 total. On the Pelicans’ side, only traditional workhorse Zion Williamson made minor problems, who scored 30 points again.
Trae Young at 10,000 points
In the Atlanta Hawks vs. San Antonio Spurs (109:99), Young once again proved his ability as a shooter and passer. He led the Hawks to victory this time with 36 points, he also dished out 13 accurate passes and rebounded 6 balls. Not only was he able to rejoice in his team’s victory, but he also reached a major milestone in his career.
He passed the 10,000 point mark as the 10th youngest player in NBA history. He only had to play 390 games to get there. In addition, he has already accumulated 3,500 assists and 1,000 successful three-point attempts. This combination of accumulated stats is the fastest in NBA history.
On San Antonio’s side, the big aspirant for the trophy, ”Rookie of the Year” Victor Wembanyama, once again did his best. He scored a solid 26 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and was once again the best blocker. However, once again it was not enough and the Spurs had to suffer their 32nd defeat of the season.
