Return to Pilsen? The theme was. But my priority was to stay abroad, said Darida

Vladimír Darida changed his place of work after seven and a half long years. He is now a player of Greek Aris Thessaloniki, where he met Jakub Brabec. Why did he have to leave Hertha and why did he not return to the Czech Republic?
Vladimír Darida has been working in Germany for almost a decade. For seven and a half years of that time he was at Hertha Berlin, where he left a really big mark and became a fan favourite.
However, his contract was up next summer and it was certain that the club would not offer him a new one. So the goal in the winter was to find a new employer, which the player did.
Darida is now a player of the Greek Aris Thessaloniki, where the Czech national team stopper Jakub Brabec is already working, which was one of the reasons why the Czech midfielder decided for this transfer.
“At the end of September I learned that Hertha would not count on me from next season, that they would not extend my contract. So I knew that I would change my place of work in the winter. I was drawn to the south, to the heat. The Aris offer came in November and I was immediately interested.
The club has ambitions, Brába plays here. Which is a positive thing not only for me, but for the whole family, Brába also has small children,” he said in an interview with Sport.cz. For many, however, the transfer came as a surprise.
It was generally expected that Darida would return to the Czech Republic and thanks to his promise it is clear that it would be to Viktoria Plzeň. However, that time has not yet come.
“The topic was. I was thinking about it. But my priority was to stay abroad. I told Mr Šadek in advance that I wanted to stay abroad,” he added. A return to Pilsen is not out of the question.
It will probably happen later, because Darida and his family are planning to build a house in the Czech Republic, so it is certain that he will want to move there later.
