Restart for Sima. Former Slavic player leaves England and goes on loan to Ligue 1
Abdallah Sima captivated the entire Czech league the season before last when he came out of nowhere and started scoring goals like on a treadmill. However, after his transfer to England, his development has stalled and he is expected to play in Ligue 1 from next season.
Abdallah Sima captivated the entire Czech league the season before last when he came out of nowhere and started scoring goals like on a treadmill. However, after his transfer to England, his development has stalled and he is expected to play in Ligue 1 from next season.
Slavia made a great deal with Sima. As an unknown youngster, they brought him for a few crowns from Taborsko, he then shot them to the Europa League quarter-finals and a league double. They subsequently sold him in the summer for €8 million.
Brighton bought him out of Slavia and immediately sent him on loan to second division Stoke, where he failed to make any impact due to frequent injuries. He made only two appearances for the A-team in the Championship, totaling 73 minutes. He then made four appearances in five starts for U23 Stoke.
So, according to Sky Sports, he’s headed out of England. He should strengthen Angers SCO, to the fourteenth team of last season’s Ligue 1 on loan.
Schalke 04 were also supposed to be interested in the Senegalese striker’s services, but Sima reportedly prefers France due to his speech and better acclimatization.
Brighton, however, still fall into Graham Potter’s long-term plans and the Seagulls are hoping that a reboot in a more culturally close country is what will help Sima and kick-start his performances from Slavia.
Sima should have a great chance to make a name for himself in Angers, plus given his health problems, the French league should suit him better than the physically demanding Championship.
