Relationship with Simeon at a standstill! Félix wants to leave Atlético Madrid, what is his exit clause?

João Félix is one of the world’s greatest talents, Atlético Madrid were not afraid to bet big on him and pay Benfica Lisbon over 100 million euros. But the Portuguese youngster is not completely happy in the east of Madrid and wants to leave.
In fact, it was a piece for piece deal. Atlético Madrid sold Antoine Griezmann to Barcelona for €120 million, bringing in Joao Félix, a generation younger, for almost the same amount.
The young Portuguese really had flashes of genius and hints that he could work his way up to being one of the best players in the world. But in three and a quarter years, he has failed to develop into an irreplaceable player who would have a secure place in the starting line-up.
At the moment, since mid-September, he has spent most of his matches on the bench, and since the national break his minutes are as follows :: 4′, 11′, 17′, 0′. It was after the last Champions League game against Brugge, when Félix was left on the bench for the whole game by coach Diego Simeone, that the Portuguese exploded in anger.
Although the match was 0-0 and the Colchoneros needed a goal, Simeone did not use Félix. So when he announced the last fifth substitution, which was Alex Witsel, Félix angrily threw the bottle and was the only one who didn’t go to thank the fans for their support.
Leaving Atlético?
Simeone did not want to comment publicly on Félix’s anger at all. “We put Witsel in to keep control of the midfield, create chances and, most importantly, not lose the game, which would have almost knocked us out of the LM. I didn’ t see what happened after that and I have nothing to comment on,” Simeone said at the press conference.
According to the daily MARCA, Félix discussed a possible departure from Atlético Madrid with his agent Jorge Mendes, who has Cristiano Ronaldo and other stars in his stable, in central Madrid on Thursday.
The relationship with Simeon is said to be at an all-time low, only he has never been entirely rosy. Félix is a toy, a footballer with a gift from God who can do great things with the ball at his feet.
It’s just that the Argentine coach professes a defensive style and much prefers fighters, toilers and warriors who don’t let anything go. That’s definitely not Felix’s style of play.
But leaving won’t be easy. Atleti have never wanted to let go of their gem, even when Barcelona or Manchester United came calling. Félix’s buyout clause is €350 million, which is definitely not going to be paid.
Moreover, the Colchoneros are definitely not planning to lower it, so Félix will probably have to find a solution to break into Atlético’s starting eleven or convince the management to sell him.
