Reigning champion Teixeira once again spoke about Prochazka being next in line for a title fight
Glover Teixeira, an experienced MMA fighter and possible future opponent of Jiri Prochazka, won the title fight for the UFC welterweight belt. However, due to his age, there is no telling when he will be able to fight again, so there was some question as to whether Prochazka would be facing one more fight before the title fight. However, Teixeira is taking him as his next opponent.

However, due to his age, there is no telling when he will be able to fight again, so there was some question as to whether Prochazka would be facing one more fight before the title fight. However, Teixeira is taking him as his next opponent.
Glover Teixeira, a forty-two-year-old MMA fighter, won a title fight with Jan Blachowicz less than two weeks ago to become the new UFC champion.
The replacement for that fight was Jiri Prochazka, who could be the new challenger to the champion. But the problem is that Teixeira is getting up there in age and won’t be able to fight until early summer.
That could bother the UFC, as Prochazka would be without a fight for a year, which would be quite a shame. That’s also why it was expected that he’d have to take on Aleksander Rakic first.
However, Teixeira has a different opinion and mentioned Prochazka as his challenger again in the interview. ” Yes, I think so.”
“I don’t really care. I’m a fighter and now I’m a champion, so I’ll fight whoever comes in front of me. George should be next in line. He was the understudy and made weight. Heshould be next in line,” he added.
Prochazka’s team is trying to address that, which was confirmed by coach Martin Karaivanov in an interview with Ondrej Novotny. A title fight is the priority, plus a fight with a legend like Teixeira would be a possibility.
