The final of this year’s Europa League, held in Budapest, was once again dominated by Sevilla of Spain. The latter overcame Mourinho’s AS Rome and the fans took the circumstance very badly. They were not happy with the head referee Taylor and even attacked him at the airport on departure!

The last match of the second most prestigious cup competition, which UEFA organizes, will be memorable. The club from Andalusia scored their 7th victory in the Hungarian capital.

This was not the only historic achievement. On the other hand, the Portuguese operating strategist, José Mourinho, lost his first ever final match in his career and could not resist the tears that followed.

The coach, however, let his emotions run high after the game, verbally attacking the evening’s head referee, Anthony Taylor, in the bowels of the stadium.

In general, all AS Rome supporters were grossly dissatisfied with the performance of the English referee. The whole situation escalated in the decisive penalty kicks.

In the 4th round, Patricio shone for the first time with a penalty, keeping his team’s hopes alive. However, referee Taylor allowed the kick to be replayed and the enforcer, Montiel, made no more mistakes. It was this moment that decided Sevilla FC’s final triumph.

The frustration on the Italian side was palpable, and not just in the stands. In fact, the Rome fans waited for the English referee the next day at the airport itself.

UEFA can be expected to take some sanctions against the team from the Italian capital. The behaviour of the AS fans was certainly not a good example.

However, the repeated penalty was not the only controversial statement. In the 81st minute, midfielder Fernando touched the ball with his arm inside the penalty area. VAR even reviewed the situation.

However, the penalty kick was not whistled and the Italians’ frustrations began to work at full speed. The end result was the images just pinned above from the airport of the Hungarian capital.
