Five lights out and the Hungarian Grand Prix is off! Lando Norris goes over the inside of Valtteri Bottas before the first corner and takes third place. We’re also watching the battle for the lead between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton.
However, the Finnish driver in the service of Mercedes fails to brake into the first corner and shoots down three drivers – Norris, Verstappen and Sergio Pérez. Lance Stroll also failed to make the entrance to Turn 1, causing a crash between himself, Daniel Ricciardo and Charles Leclerc.
You can see the big accident immediately after the start for yourself.
After about 20 minutes the race was restarted, but 5 drivers did not continue – Bottas, Leclerc, Stroll, Pérez, Norris.
Hamilton led the race after the restart, but he was the only one who didn’t switch from wet to dry tyres on the drying track and had to pit at the end of the fourth circuit to his mechanics.
Nikita Mazepin crashed in the pits in his Haas. That leaves only fourteen drivers in the race, with Hamilton last!
