Red Bull Racing can match another record in the upcoming Qatar Grand Prix. This time, however, it will be a record set by the Austrian team itself in terms of consecutive podium finishes.

Red Bull can equal one of the records it has set at the international circuit in Lusail. The Milton Keynes-based team has clearly dominated this season’s Formula One season, winning every race except the Singapore Grand Prix so far.

In Japan, the Austrian stable became world constructors’ champion for the second year in a row, having scored 623 points so far in 2023.

Max Verstappen is also going for his third consecutive championship title, leading the drivers’ championship with 400 points. His teammate Sergio Pérez is an abysmal 177 points behind him.

Red Bull’s dominance this year, for example, is symbolised by McLaren’s historic record for the most wins in a row. But now Verstappen and Pérez can match another significant record.

Although this time it is purely a team record. Verstappen and Pérez could easily equal the team’s record for consecutive points finishes if they finish in the top ten in Sunday’s race or in the top eight in Saturday’s sprint at the Lusail International Circuit.

Red Bull is close to equalling its record

Red Bull’s current team record for consecutive points finishes is 38 races in a row. And yet that record has been set twice – between Spain 2016 and Australia 2018 and then Spain the same season to Abu Dhabi 2019.

The current streak of 37 races was established last year in Saudi Arabia. And if Red Bull can reach that milestone, its surpassing could come on October 22 in Austin at the US Grand Prix.
