The last day of the transfer period in the morning is already worth it. The European big clubs are still bringing in the desired reinforcements at the last minute, one of them is Manchester City. The latter has finally managed to complete the transfer of the Wolverhampton player – Matheus Nunes joins the Citizens squad.

Matheus Nunes has definitely become a new signing for Manchester City. Initially, the two clubs verbally agreed on a transfer fee of £47 million, but in the end the final sum for this transfer is even higher.

The Citizens will pay £53 million for the 25-year-old central midfielder, making it a record sale in Wolverhampton’s history.

Although the transfer will cost Manchester City more, there are no future liabilities included in the transfer fee. Apart from a ten per cent stake in the future sale, Wolves have no other alternative in the form of future earnings.

According to the latest reports, Nunes has been given permission to travel to Manchester, where he will of course undergo a medical and then sign a contract.

In a separate deal, Tommy Doyle is moving in the opposite direction. The twenty-one-year-old midfielder will initially be on loan at Wolverhampton, after which the club can exercise the £4.3 million option for a permanent transfer.

Nunes only transferred to the English club in August last year. Wolves paid Sporting Lisbon 45 million euros and 42 million pounds for him then.

During that time, Nunes played 41 competitive games for Wolverhampton, scoring one goal and assisting in one other. After winning four trophies from his time at Sporting England, he did not add further success.
