Preview

Real Madrid have lost 6 games already this season, but only once by more than one goal. That was when Barcelona won 3-1 at the Santiago Bernabéu in January. But even that would not be enough for Liverpool to qualify.

The Reds need to score at least 3 goals and not concede any to go extra time. They would need to have a day like the one they recently had against Manchester United, whom they swept 7:0. However, in the last league round they fell at Bournemouth and didn’t score a goal.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, walked away with three points at home to Espanyol and are certainly in a good mood for the next game. But Carlo Ancelotti is looking ahead to this weekend’s El Clásico, which will take place on Sunday at the Camp Nou, rather than the clash with Liverpool.

However, Real Madrid cannot be expected to underestimate the duel with the English team, which they have beaten 6 times in the last 7 duels! “We will not calculate. We have to play from the first minute,” Ancelotti said at the pre-match press conference.

Even if we see some major changes in the starting line-up, the Spanish side has an excellent team that would play at least an even game with Salah and co.

But what to look for when choosing a pick? Clearly it’s goals, which are again expected in a big way. Over 2.5 is offered at odds of around 1.55, which I think is a very interesting number in which I see value.

If we don’t count the final duel of 2022, at least 4 goals have fallen in 3 out of 4 occasions in the duels. And with Liverpool needing to score at least 3 goals, betting on the goalkeepers catching the ball out of their net multiple times is certainly an interesting option.
