Real Madrid need to strengthen their attack. Which reinforcements should he have in mind?
Two years of work went to waste. Kylian Mbappé, despite all the promises, will ultimately not strengthen Real Madrid and will remain overwhelmed by millions in Paris. The La Liga winner must look elsewhere for reinforcements in attack.
Two years of work went to waste. Kylian Mbappé, despite all the promises, will ultimately not strengthen Real Madrid and will remain overwhelmed by millions in Paris. The La Liga winner must look elsewhere for reinforcements in attack.
Although Real Madrid won La Liga and advanced to the Champions League final, strengthening the attack is a must. This season has been so great thanks to the fabulous form of Benzema and Vinícius, but that cannot be relied upon indefinitely.
Towards the end of the spring, Rodrygo also made a decent start, but he is still very unstable, one time he plays fantastic, the other time he is lackluster. Moreover, the “Superduo” has practically no substitute, only Asensio, who has not been performing well for a long time, and Mariano and Jovic, who are definitely not of Real Madrid quality, are ready on the bench.
After that, only Eden Hazard, who is on the sidelines for the vast majority of the time, and Gareth Bale, who is pursuing more of a golfing career and is out of contract in the summer anyway, are available.
The problems in attack were supposed to be solved by the arrival of Mbappé, but in the end Real Madrid have to make other arrangements. Which reinforcements are being talked about?
Christopher Nkunku, 24, Leipzig
This season’s comet. The French footballer can play on the wing, on the wing and on the sub. He has scored 35 goals for Leipzig this season, added 14 assists and put in a great performance.
Talks about his arrival are starting to abound in Spain, but negotiations with Leipzig, where he is under contract until 2024, will be difficult. According to the Transfermarkt website, his value is 65 million euros, the rich Saxon club doesn’t need the money and reportedly doesn’t want to hear anything about selling him. But if Real Madrid come knocking…
Serge Gnabry, 26, Bayern Munich
There’s a big opportunity here. Gnabry’s contract expires next year and he is very much in favour of leaving Bayern. The Munich giant has reportedly set up the situation as follows, either Gnabry will extend his contract or leave in the summer, he doesn’t want to let the 26-year-old winger leave for free.
Gnabry was supposed to be recommended to Real Madrid by his former teammate David Alaba, plus he would not be too expensive due to the impending end of his contract. He has scored 17 goals and added 7 assists for Bayern this season.
Darwin Núñez, 22, Benfica
Another big comet this season. Núñez had the year of his life at Benfica, scoring 34 goals and setting up 4 more. But the Uruguayan sensation has the whole of Europe interested, especially the Premier League.
According to Transfermarkt, his value is 40 million euros, but Benfica are asking at least twice that. It’s quite a risk to pay that kind of money for a player who has played practically one good season in elite football.
Other signings
Of course, after the failure with Mbappé, many players will be linked with Real Madrid. Traditionally, the return of Cristiano Ronaldo or the arrival of Robert Lewandowski are mentioned, but neither transfer is realistic. At the same time, there is talk about the arrival of Raheem Sterling or Mohamed Salah, but this is more just speculation for now.
