Under the recently introduced FIFA system, which was subsequently verified by UEFA, players in the Ukrainian league, where there is currently a war, are allowed to join another club freely. As a result of the war, the league in Ukraine is currently suspended and players cannot play. In this article, we will look at a trio of players who have left Shakhtar Donetsk under the new system.
The first player we will look at is twenty-four year old central midfielder Maycon. The native of São Paulo, who has played almost 100 games in the Ukrainian national team’s jersey, will be on loan in his native Brazil, specifically at Corinthians.
The guest stint will last until 31 December 2022 and the option is not part of it. Maycon will then return to Shakhtar. Corinthians is, among other things, the club where Maycon started and from which he transferred to Shakhtar on July 1, 2018.
Another player we would like to look at is 18-year-old right-back Vinicius Tobias. This youngster is going on loan to Real Madrid. The length of the loan is set until 30 June 2023 and it also includes a subsequent option.
Vinicius will not immediately be part of the A-team, but will be with Real Madrid Castilla for the remainder of the current season. He should then move into the A-team from next season and act as cover for Daniel Carvajal.
The last of the trio of players is the twenty-two-year-old right winger Tetê, who is going on loan to Olympique Lyon, where he is expected to stay until 30 June 2022. The subsequent option is not part of the loan deal, however, the young Brazilian is only under contract with the Ukrainian outfit until 31 December 2023.
He is quite a productive player as the 22-year-old Brazilian has played a total of 28 games this season, scoring 10 goals and notching 2 assists. We will see which of the three players will benefit the most from their guest appearances.
What do you think about the new destinations of these players and in your opinion, hasn’t Maycon had a better club to play for, especially now that he has been offered the perfect opportunity?
