Real Madrid were counting on bringing Kylian Mbappé to the team for free in the summer. He was supposed to strengthen an already interesting squad. But that didn’t happen. The star Frenchman has signed a new contract in Paris.
So the Spanish league champion and Champions League winner is still looking for a possible forward. The search, however, has remained in France, where many talents are running around on the top-flight turf.
For the second season, 22-year-old Amine Gouiri, who is still one of the driving forces of his team, shone in the Nice jersey. The Lyon graduate joined the team from the Cote d’Azur two years ago and he made the right choice.
In two seasons, he has played 84 games with a record of 28 goals and 18 assists. Moreover, he is still improving. He can finish and create. He’ll play on the top and underneath. He can also play on the wings.
Transfermarkt estimates Gouiri’s value at €42 million, but Real Madrid don’t want to pay that much for the player. Therefore, it hopes to agree a lower sum with Nice, with the offensive all-rounder staying at the club on loan until January or the end of the season.
According to Diario Sport, Gouiri is the man Ancelotti would like to use as Karim Benzema’s successor. He is therefore counting on him more for the future. However, Real Madrid would like to complete the transfer before the close of this transfer window.
