Endrick will join Real Madrid during the next summer. It is no wonder that he is increasingly coming under the scrutiny of the wider public. His performances of late have remained far below expectations.

Real Madrid have taken a new route in their transfer strategy in recent years, bringing several Brazilian super-talents into their ranks for a considerable amount of money.

We can safely say that in the case of Vinícius Jr. and Rodrygo, this strategy has paid off. For the former, the Spanish big club shelled out €45 million and that was when he was just 16 years old.

Essentially the same story applies to Rodrygo. In both cases, Real Madrid had to wait for the moment when the footballer would celebrate his 18th birthday and be able to move to Europe.

Considerably worse was the transfer of Reinier, who may even have been forgotten by many. He too was set to become a future star of the club. Instead, he is wandering around on loan and his market price has fallen to the two million euro mark. That is a significant drop from the purchase price of €30 million.

What will be the fate of Endrick?

If you’re 16 years old and the most successful football club in history is not reluctant to pay €40 million plus other potential bonuses, it’s logical that you might fall under the weight of the moment. Suddenly the eyes of the world are on you.

Since the official announcement of the transfer, Endrick has begun to struggle and has even been left out of the squad several times. Real Madrid even sent a scout to Brazil who played a significant role in the youngster’s transfer. He tried to explain to him that he didn’t have to admit any pressure.

During one of the games Endrick was substituted and immediately afterwards he sat on the substitutes bench, put his distinctive jersey over his head and burst into tears.

The footballer himself has now given an interview to TNT Sports Brasil in which he describes how he deals with the pressure.

“I spoke to Rodryg and Vinícius. They explained to me how things work in Spain. When we talked, I already imagined myself in Spain,” said the young star.

But I try to avoid thinking about Real Madrid to avoid the anxiety that follows,” the Brazilian added.

Endrick, however, is not having an optimal season. He has scored only one goal since the second half of June and has dropped out of the starting lineup. He has sat on the bench for two of the last five games, missed one game completely and has come on as a substitute on the last two occasions. Against Corinthians, he was trusted for the last six minutes.

Will Endrick’s journey replicate the success of Vinícius Jr. and Rodrygo, or will he fade into obscurity like Reinier?
