Even though the two giants of world football, Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain, are facing an eight-final duel in the millionaire Champions League, their representatives met on Monday evening in a renowned restaurant in Paris.
Even as the football world is rocked by the anticipated duel between world football giants Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain, President Florentino Pérez and his counterpart Nasser Al-Khelaifi clashed the day before the match at one of the world’s finest restaurants, Guy Savoy in Paris.
Pérez and Al-Khelaifi had a tense relationship
Although things have been simmering between the leaders of the two big clubs of late, as we recently reported, they found common ground again on Monday night. This is because last year, after the announcement of the Super League project, of which Florentino Pérez was the main founder, Al-Khelaifi was one of the main opponents of said project.
The already strained relationship between the two charismatic leaders of the two big clubs was certainly not helped by the fact that Real Madrid tried to acquire the Parisian club’s most valuable jewel, Kylian Mbappé, in the summer. Although the Madrid club failed to make a move in Paris for the French cannonballer, the transfer is expected to take place this summer.
Guy Savoy, a pearl among restaurants
Despite their apparently tarnished relationship, the day before the biggest duel of the Champions League knockout phase at the moment, the two men agreed to have dinner together in a renowned Parisian restaurant. This restaurant, chosen by Al-Khelaifi, has three Michelin stars and was named the best ever in the world in 2020.
The restaurant is located on the top floor of the Monnaie, a mint that sits on the banks of the Seine and sits opposite the Louvre. Its tasting menu costs around 13,000 CZK, while a “feast dinner” goes for up to 30,000 CZK.
The restaurant is truly a culinary temple. Its excellent dishes include potatoes with caviar and egg “sabayon” or artichoke soup with truffles and parmesan. In addition to the delicious food, guests can also enjoy the surrounding atmosphere. In the restaurant you will find incredible works of art and of course the best service.
We will find out how the final eight duel will turn out tonight at 9 pm. The match will take place at the Parc des Princes in Paris and you can watch the duel on Premier Sport 2.
