We’ll probably be seeing the name Arda Güler more and more as the Turkish super-talent is improving game by game, which has piqued the interest of the biggest players in Europe. Many Czech fans may have noticed Güler last year when he played a total of 48 minutes in a Conference League doubleheader with Slavia Prague, during which he notched 2 assists.
This season, however, the 18-year-old offensive player has already started to get a lot more space, as he played in 35 games in which he scored 6 goals and assisted 7 more. Especially towards the end of the season, he already started to become an important part of coach Zeki Murat Göle’s team, which eventually finished second behind Galatasaray.
His performances also earned him an invitation to the Turkish national team, where he enjoyed his first goal in the national jersey, scoring in the Wales net on 19 June.
The native of Ankara, Turkey, is excellent on the ball, which is absolutely crucial given that he is 176 cm tall and weighs 61 kg. However, the dashing and extremely skilful talent navigates the middle of the park with great ease and of course, that couldn’t escape the two Spanish giants.
According to Madrid Universal, Real Madrid is the most active club at the moment and could pay the €17.5 million buyout clause that Güler should have in his contract, which is valid until 2025.
Turkish Messi, as he is referred to by many, which is telling for his style of play, has previously been tracked by Barcelona, according to Spanish newspaper Diario AS. However, he has now been joined by a major competitor in the form of Real.
But there is no doubt that other European big clubs are interested in Güler as well, and they could see the Turkish offensive midfielder in the European Cups, where he could possibly feature in a Fenerbahce jersey in the upcoming season.
If indeed the Turkish youngster were to go to one of the two aforementioned clubs, it can be assumed that he would turn around and go on loan where he would play regularly, which is undoubtedly the main priority for his further development at the moment.
