Ranking of the 10 highest paid footballers: PSG players dominate, Ronaldo loses a lot
The highest paid footballer this year is Kylian Mbappé, who has extended his contract with wealthy Paris Saint Germain, with fellow players Lionel Messi and Neymar just below him in the rankings. Mohamed Salah, who has signed a new contract with Liverpool, is newly in fourth place.

10. Robert Lewandowski – £350,000 a week
The star striker, who hails from Poland and plays for German giants Bayern Munich, is the only player from the Bundesliga in the rankings. Robert Lewandowski currently earns £350,000 a week, which is roughly 10 million crowns. There is speculation that Barcelona would be interested in his services, but Bayern refuses to sell.
9. Antoine Griezmann – £356,000 per week
Ninth place goes, perhaps surprisingly, to Griezmann, who is not such a prominent player at the moment. Nevertheless, his employer from Atlético Madrid sends him £356,000 a week, which in crown terms is slightly over £10 million.
7.-8. Erling Haaland and David de Gea – £375,000 a week
Next up are two players who play in the English Premier League. Manchester United’s long-term mainstay in goal David de Gea has been among the highest paid players for quite some time.
However, the same salary has now been matched by talented striker Erling Haaland, who will defend the colours of rivals Manchester City. Both the Spanish goalkeeper and the Norwegian young superstar will earn £375,000 a week, which converted into crowns is just under £11 million.
5.-6. Cristiano Ronaldo and Kevin De Bruyne – £385,000 a week
Once again we have a pair of players playing in Manchester, and once again it’s one from the Red Devils and one from the Citizens. Cristiano Ronaldo and Kevin De Bruyne are both among the best players in the world, and so we can say that they deserve a salary that reaches the figure of £385,000 per week, or approximately 11 million Czech crowns.
Kevin De Bruyne has long been one of Manchester City’s mainstays. Cristiano Ronaldo was Manchester United’s best player last season, but an unsuccessful season prompted his desire to leave the red side of Manchester. Several big teams are interested, so we can expect a transfer battle to rage for this player.
4. Mohamed Salah – £400,000 a week
The highest paid player in the Premier League is Egyptian Mohamed Salah, who has extended his contract with Liverpool. The player will stay with the Reds for another three years and will earn very good money, earning £400,000 a week, which means something around 11.5 million crowns.
Liverpool star Sadio Mané left during the transfer window, speculations about Salah’s departure also appeared, but by signing the contract he showed everyone that his future belongs to Liverpool.
3. Lionel Messi – £665,000 a week
Paris Saint Germain have acquired Lionel Messi for free from Barcelona. By not having to pay for the transfer, they were able to add to his wages, which amount to £665,000 a week, which translates to roughly 19 million crowns.
However, Messi’s first season in Paris did not go as well as he and his employers would have liked. However, next season he has another chance to show that he deserves that kind of money.
2. Neymar – £820,000 a week
The most expensive transfer in football history so far is Neymar’s move from Barcelona to PSG. The 30-year-old Brazilian superstar has been in Paris since 2017.
A transfer for the magical sum of 222 million euros and an astronomical salary that exceeds 23 million Czech crowns is simply a lot, but the sheiks who own the Parisian team are not afraid to spend. Neymar is one of many such cases.
1. Kylian Mbappé – £1 million a week
The highest paid footballer today, as mentioned, is French star Kylian Mbappé. There has long been a saga that he could join Real Madrid for free, but PSG came up with an offer that Mbappé simply couldn’t refuse.
He will earn £1 million a week, which works out at around £28.5 million. The Frenchman’s new contract has also brought a lot of benefits to PSG, so we just have to wait and see how the whole cabinet reacts in the upcoming season.
