Rangers vs. Saint Gilloise: Preview and betting tips

Rangers have a rematch of the Champions League third round on Tuesday at home to Saint Gilloise and have a lot of ground to make up. They lost 0:2 in Belgium and must score at least twice at Ibrox Park.

Rangers reached the Europa League final last season, which in turn cost them the league title and a certain Champions League group. They also failed to win their opening game of the second round, losing 0:2 in Belgium.

Gilloise dominated the Belgian league for a long time last year, but was eventually overtaken by the more experienced Bruges. He had a bad start to the new edition of the Jupiler Pro League, saving some of his mainstays for the rematch this Saturday, losing 0:3 and finishing ninth.

Alfredo Morelos is a big support for the home team, the Colombian forward scored 19 times and assisted six times last season. Right back James Tavernier scored a whopping eighteen goals and assisted nine.

On the away side, Dante Vanzeir shines, he netted fifteen times last year and made the national team. Team captain and Maltese national midfielder Teddy Teuma netted seven times and assisted eight times.

Rangers build everything on offensive goals, they averaged over two goals scored per game in the league last season.

Gillois, on the other hand, hasn’t been too hot, scoring more than once in only one of their last four games. Given Rangers’ experience and the tumultuous home environment, I think the home team will win.
