The last Grand Slam tournament of this year’s tennis season is coming to a climax, and this also applies to the doubles matches. The 2022 US Open already knows the winning pair from the men’s doubles, the women’s and mixed doubles competitions have their finals ahead of them. For the domestic fan, the most interesting match will be the clash for the trophy with the participation of Barbora Krejcikova and Kateryna Siniakova.

The Czech-Moravian duo will try to win their sixth joint title from the “Big Four tournaments” on Sunday at 7 p.m. our time against unseeded Americans Caty McNally and Taylor Townsend.

The tournament’s top three will have extra motivation in their duel with the home pair, as the New York championship is the last one they need to complete their career grand slam. Krejcikova and Siniakova have already rejoiced twice at Roland Garros and Wimbledon, and once at the Australian Open. In Flushing Meadows, they lost in the 2017 final.

Defending their US Open triumph on Friday night was the American-British duo of Rajeev Ram, Joe Salisbury. They defeated the Dutchman Wesley Koolhof and Britain’s Neal Skupski in the final match of the men’s doubles tournament after sets of 7: 6 and 7: 5.

The mixed doubles is scheduled to reach its climax on Saturday at 6pm. Australian pair Storm Sanders, John Peers and Belgian-French duo Kirsten Flipkens, Édouard Roger-Vasselin will face each other.

Then the women’s singles finalists will take the court at 10pm CET. One of them is the main favourite and world number one Iga Świątek, who had to turn the tide in her semi-final. She defeated Aryna Sabalenka after sets 3: 6, 6: 1 and 6: 4.

The Pole will challenge Ons Dzhabour from Tunisia for the title. The fifth player in the WTA rankings secured her place in the final with a 6:1, 6:3 victory over Caroline Garcia. The climax of the men’s singles will be played from 10pm on Sunday. The US Open matches will be broadcast live on Eurosport.
