Manchester United take on Wrexham as part of their preparatory tour of the USA. Czech goalkeeper Radek Vitek also got a chance in the second half.
Wrexham, who celebrated their promotion from the fifth to the fourth English league this season, are experiencing a preparation that other clubs from the same competition could only dream of.
Thanks to their influential owners, the English club’s players have spent their preparation in the USA, where they have played Chelsea and now Manchester United. The actors, who own the club, were very funny in their presentation of the match. Alex Ferguson also starred in the video, which was recorded before the end of last season.
It may have been all the more disappointing for Wrexham players and fans that not a single player from the first team made an appearance in a Manchester United jersey. Erik ten Haag decided to make a line-up of only youngsters, thanks to which Czech goalkeeper Radek Vitek got into the goal during the second half.
Even though United went down 1: 3, the Czech youngster only got one goal. Nathan Bishop let the first two into his own net.
It was Hishop who was also involved in another serious incident, after which the Wrexham footballer ended up in hospital. In the twelfth minute of the game, the Manchester United goalkeeper threw himself into the fray in such a way that Paul Mullin needed oxygen on the pitch and was rushed to hospital.
Mullin has already shared a photo on social media from the hospital, thanking everyone for the news and reassuring fans that he is now fine.
The substitution by Radek Vitek was a relief for the English goalkeeper, as after the incident the whole stadium booed him for the rest of the half and even the Wrexham coach did not remain calm.
“I’m angry. It was very reckless and in a preliminary match. I’m not happy at all,” he said after the game, according to The Sun. “It should have been a red card straight away,” he added.
