Pulkrab is silent on goal in Germany. He also lost his place in the lineup. How is the Sparta graduate doing in the second Bundesliga?

It could have been spicy. Matej Pulkrab was linked to a hated rival before the end of last season. He was supposed to go straight from Prague’s Sparta to Slavia. In the end, however, it didn’t happen. The Czech striker chose to leave for Germany. How is he doing?

It could have been spicy. Matej Pulkrab was linked to a hated rival before the end of last season. He was supposed to go straight from Prague’s Sparta to Slavia. In the end, however, it didn’t happen. The Czech striker chose to leave for Germany. How is he doing?

Matěj Pulkrab is certainly not a bad striker. He has proved it several times. He scored goals both in the jersey of Sparta Prague and during his guest spells at Bohemians or Slovan Liberec. But his career has been hampered by numerous injuries.

Last season, when he managed to score 7 goals from the position of a joker, was no different. Even if he doesn’t start from the beginning, he can be a valid player when he comes on the field. This was also known to the Slavia management team, which was supposed to seek his services.

The whole situation was very much discussed. Sparta Prague also made a clumsy statement. However, the player himself did not end up heading to the other side of the Vltava River. He chose a foreign route and moved to Germany, specifically to the second league Sandhausen.

Sandhausen is not a very prestigious address, however, it has been active in the second Bundesliga since 2012 and although it has always occupied rather lower positions in the table, it could have been an interesting engagement for Pulkrab.

After all, Pulkrab was looking forward to Sandhausen. The club was also happy about the reinforcements. But the start didn’t go well at all. After six rounds Sandhausen is in 14th position with 6 points. The score of 7::9 is not great either. It speaks of a dysfunctional attack. All of it.

Pulkrab was in the starting lineup in the first few games. Four times. However, in the fourth game, the coach ran out of patience. The Czech striker was withdrawn after half-time and sat on the bench for the next game. This weekend, he only played the last few minutes.

Currently Pulkrab has zero goals and assists. He can only be happy that his health is holding up for now. Otherwise, his performance doesn’t look so good.

His competitors are not scoring either, so he will definitely get a chance. And the whole offense is not working. Sandhausen doesn’t create as many scoring opportunities and that of course doesn’t help Pulkrab.
