Pudilova will face a dangerously motivated fighter in her return to the UFC. Who will be her opponent?
Lucie Pudilova has already announced that she is returning to the UFC and that she already knows her opponent and the date of the fight, but the details have been withheld from fans and media. It is only now that journalist Marcel Dorff has come forward with them.

The Czech fighter has pulled off a great stunt. She was the first Czech woman to get into the UFC and before any others could get there, she fought her way back and this summer she will be in the cage of the best MMA organization for the first time.
And that the UFC is saving her for some smaller events? Not really. Lucie Pudilova will be in action at the prestigious and numbered UFC 278, where she will be challenged by the now legendary Kamaru Usman, who will be challenged by Leon Edwards in the main event.
Thus, Pudilova will be in the cage on August 20 in Salt Lake City and her opponent will be Chinese fighter Yanan Wu, who will be highly motivated going into the fight. So it won’t be easy for the former Octagon fighter.
The reason is simple. Wu will be fighting for a new contract in the UFC, where she hasn’t had much success. She came to the famous organization with a beautiful record of 11::1, but after five fights among the world’s elite, her record has suffered somewhat and now stands at 12::5.
If the Chinese loses her match, she will not get a new contract. Pudilova, however, has her motivation taken care of as well. She definitely wants to prove that her return to the UFC is justified and that she can measure up to the elite.
After all, that’s why she was looking for the right coaching team before she finally found it with the famous John Kavanagh, who coaches, among others, Conor McGregor. Pudilova has won 5 out of 6 fights in the Octagon and will be looking to build on her winning ways.
