Public reaction to Barcelona match against Las Palmas: an incredible 14 offsides by the Blaugranas and a manly assist by Lewandowski

As is tradition for Barcelona in the league this year, it was no spectacle. The triumph of the Catalans at the ground of Las Palmas was happy and earned, the decisive goal at 2: 1 was scored from a penalty. The tackle on Ilkay Gundogan has been much discussed on social media.

Penalty for experience and calculation

The big topic is the penalty kick from the stoppage time. Ilkay Gundogan was clever, clearly waiting for a push from an opposing player according to the footage. “The defender should not have put his hand on his back, but it was a very lucky decision for Barcelona,” wrote fan Will Goins.

Even Las Palmas supporters and their coach did not agree with the harsh verdict in the set-up. “I don’t know if it was enough for a penalty. And I don’t know if we offended our luck, but we’re not lucky with the referees’ decision right now,” coach Garcia Pimienta said.
