PSG can be more than satisfied with their season so far. The Parisians lead the French Ligue 1, where they had 11 points ahead of second-placed Monaco before the match. In the Champions League, PSG have progressed through Barcelona to the semi-finals, where they can look forward to facing Borussia Dortmund.
And to make matters worse, they will also play the French Cup final, so they hold the chance of a precious treble in their hands. Le Havre is in a very different position. The results of the last few games are not positive, in fact, the team has won only 5 points from the last ten league games, which is the worst form of the whole league.
No wonder Le Havre is soaked in relegation waters, while it is currently enough for the 16th barrage position. Méty are one point behind, with a two-point lead for outright relegation.
PSG vs Le Havre
In this match, the favourite was clear, but PSG did not fully play their part. In the 19th minute, the visitors took the lead when Christopher Operi scored after a beautiful shot. Ten minutes later, however, the Parisians equalised when Bradley Barcola scored.
At that point, many thought it was only a matter of time before PSG would take the lead. But the opposite was true, Andre Ayew’s accurate shot sent the visitors into the lead shortly before the end of the half and the visitors even increased their lead.
In the 61st minute, they got the benefit of a penalty kick and Abdoulaye Toure didn’t hesitate. Le Havre went for the all-important three points towards staying in the league, but PSG did not give up and the reduction came in the 78th minute when Achraf Hakimi scored.
PSG had plenty of time and eventually managed to wrest a valuable point when they staked everything on attack and Goncalo Ramos equalised with a header in the fifth minute of stoppage time.
The Parisians lead the league by 12 points ahead of Monaco, who have a game in hand and still have a chance of the league title. Le Havre, on the other hand, have lost two points and although they are currently 15th, they are only a point ahead of the Mets, who are in the bargaining position.
