It was indeed a great transfer saga. Kylian Mbappé was reportedly headed to Real Madrid in the last transfer window, but ended up staying at PSG. However, the Spanish outfit are supposed to be favourites to sign him again next summer.
It’s practically an annual tradition now. Kylian Mbappé is considering a move to Real Madrid, who are tempting him by all means possible, but in the end everything will stay the same and the French international will continue to wear the PSG jersey.
This summer, however, it already seemed that a deal would actually happen. The Parisian big club had two options – either to sell Mbappé this summer or let him go for free next year.
The star Frenchman announced at the beginning of the summer transfer window that he would not sign a new contract. According to reports by renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, he agreed terms with Real Madrid, but in the end there was an unexpected turn in the whole affair.
Mbappé was reportedly ready to sign a new contract with PSG. But nothing like that has happened yet, so the former Monaco player still has a contract until the end of June next year.
PSG even started the new edition of Ligue 1 without Mbappé, but after a bad start, the management of the French team called him back to the squad. LA Liga president Javier Tebas, among others, recently commented on the issue.
He thinks that Mbappé will indeed leave PSG next summer and head to Real Madrid. In addition, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi said that the situation surrounding the 24-year-old forward remains fluid. But apart from that, he duly praised him.
“Kylian Mbappe is a PSG player. He loves this club,” Al-Khelaifi said of the French international, quoted by Spanish daily MARCA.
“He is a fantastic player. He is the best in the world. We are very happy to have him and we will have him,” the PSG president added.
