Champions League
PSG, Liverpool, Dortmund? What could Pilsen’s Champions League group look like?
They are still celebrating in Štruncové Sady, as is the whole of Pilsen, where several famous teams will be arriving in the autumn. Pilsen from the fourth basket can get a group of death, but also acceptable opponents.
They are still celebrating in Štruncové Sady, as is the whole of Pilsen, where several famous teams will be arriving in the autumn. Pilsen from the fourth basket can get a group of death, but also acceptable opponents.
Viktoria has already played Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, AC Milan and Manchester City in the past. Now it can again choose between elite opponents.
And quite possibly it will have two top opponents, as the second basket is also quite full. And even in the third basket you will find famous teams like Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan or Bayer Leverkusen with Schick and Hložek.
In the first basket there is the winner of the Champions League (Real Madrid) and the winner of the Europa League (Frankfurt). The six champions from the countries with the highest coefficients will complete them. After that, the clubs are ranked according to the highest club coefficient.
The group of death in play is thus Real Madrid, Liverpool, Dortmund. Possibly PSG, Chelsea, Inter. But at the same time, Viktoria may get a more viable group, in which they would catch, for example, Frankfurt, Sevilla and Shakhtar, although even that would not give Plzeň much chance to advance.
Virtually all the opponents from the first two baskets would be a feast for Plzeň. Petar Musa and Alexander Bah would come for Benfica from the third basket, while Leverkusen would have the two Czechs already mentioned.
