Paris Saint-Germain has virtually no major competition in France. They regularly win titles and no French club can compare to them in terms of individual qualities. On the international stage, however, things are falling apart.
Despite huge investments, they have not been able to win the Champions League, which is why they have been forced to strengthen further. This year’s signings so far are very big names like Marco Asensio, Milan Škriniar and Lucas Hernández. But Italian midfielder Cher Ndour is also an interesting name.
He arrives as a free agent after failing to agree a new contract with Benfica. He has agreed a five-year contract with his new club. The very talented central midfielder reportedly preferred PSG to several other big clubs.
Ndour can play in the classic number eight position, but also in more offensive midfield positions. At Benfica, he became the youngest player ever to start for the Portuguese club’s B team. However, he failed to make his way into the first team at the club from the Portuguese capital.
That could change in Paris over time. In fact, the club is slowly starting to move in a new direction, where they are trying to give enough space to young talents and players like Zaïre-Emery, Ekitike and Vitinha are clear proof of that.
The Italy Under-20 international could be a really big asset for the club in the future. His main strengths are getting balls for his team or helping out in defensive activities. At his height, 190 centimetres, he is also excellent in personal duels.
