Lionel Messi will most likely leave Paris in the summer and PSG must look for a replacement, and according to GOAL, the decision has already been made. However, it is questionable whether a new signing will actually be brought in.

PSG will probably face a bigger renewal of the squad in the summer than initially expected. According to foreign media, the club wants to get rid of Neymar, the future of Kylian Mbappé is uncertain and Lionel Messi will be without a contract after the season.

Although the Argentine in particular has been a senseless target of criticism from Paris fans and the club has struggled to show its authority in recent weeks, at least on the surface, his contribution to PSG’s play has been crucial and has won many points.

A potential contract extension has been mooted throughout the season, only for Messi’s stint in France to appear to be over. There is talk of him returning to Barcelona or going to Saudi Arabia. PSG must look for a replacement.

And according to GOAL, it should have already identified its number one transfer target. It’s Bernardo Silva, the Manchester City star. The 28-year-old Portuguese has long been talking about wanting a new challenge again and he could get one in the summer.

Silva has already played in France before moving to England, having worked at Monaco. Moreover, he has publicly stated that he finds the French league harder than the English one. His departure to PSG has been talked about more than once in the past, but it never happened.

According to Transfermarkt, Silva’s value is estimated at €80 million. However, Barcelona are also said to be interested in the player, but they will struggle to pay the player.

However, Joan Laporta, the president of the Catalan outfit, recalled that Silva was once close to a transfer to Camp Nou, however, he then lost the presidential election and thus it never materialized. Could it happen now, or will the Portuguese favour PSG?
