Prochazka after the defeat: Referees? It was the right decision. I was off, but my body kept going
Jiri Prochazka has his second title fight in the UFC. But this time he is not the lucky one, the belt is held by Brazilian Alex Pereira, who stopped him in the second round. Procházka said a few words after his defeat in the cage and although many didn’t understand the early stoppage, he didn’t complain about anything.

The UFC 295 tournament at Madison Square Garden is over. The fight of the night was between Jiri Prochazka and Alex Pereira for the UFC light heavyweight belt.
No one captured the title, with champion Jamahal Hill vacating it due to injury, just like Prochazka did last year. The Czech fighter was a slight favourite, but the first round showed an even battle.
It is a question who won it, the experts were also not quite sure. In the second one, however, Procházko was more successful and managed to hit him well several times.
But when he tried to drive the Brazilian to the canvas, he took two punches to the face and went down after the second one. He was still trying to save the situation, but cashed in more punches and when Pereira got on top of him, the referee stopped the fight.
Procházka spoke about the defeat
Whether it was a good decision will be written about for a long time. Even Joe Rogan himself asked Procházka after the loss how he saw the whole situation. But he made no excuses and promised the fans a return in a stronger form.
“I think it was a good decision in the end. I was off, but whoever knows me knows that I will never stop fighting. My body kept going.
But it doesn’t matter, it’s a big reminder for me. I’m gonna work on it and come back stronger than ever. Thank you all for this fight. I’ll be back!” he said right in the cage after the defeat.
Procházka lost for the first time since 2015. Let’s hope that the organization will give him another opponent as soon as possible and the Czech fighter will show why he hasn’t tasted the taste of defeat for so long.
