Procházka admitted to the unpleasantness before the match with Pereira: I trained fully for only 6 days. Will a rematch be arranged?
Jiří Procházka lost to Alex Pereira, but he is not broken. On the contrary. He seems even more motivated. Moreover, he revealed some interesting information about his preparation for that fight.

It’s been over a week since the biggest fight in the history of Czechoslovak MMA. Jiri Prochazka fought Alex Pereira for the welterweight title at the famous Madison Square Garden. He was the better man until the end of the second round, but the Brazilian stopped him.
There was a lot of talk about whether the referee ended the fight too soon. However, the Moravian samurai himself, both in the cage and afterwards, denied that referee Marc Goddard had stopped the bout prematurely.
However, coaches Jaroslav Hovězák and Martin Karaivanov had the opposite opinion from the beginning. And after returning home, Procházka himself started to lean towards this opinion, and among other things, he started to reveal interesting information.
There is a lot of speculation about who he will fight next and when he will return. His coaches have already hinted at this, but now he himself has expressed his opinion on this topic. “I believe I could be back in the cage in April or May,” he revealed in an interview with Čestmir Strakaty.
He also talked about the rematch with Pereira: “We’ll see if he can come to an agreement after the termination. I just accepted it. Then it started to bite me that I expressed myself more on a fair play note and decency. That’s something that needs to be emphasized in this sport. After all, it is the purest competition between two men and must be kept clean for the sake of morality and code. Otherwise, we’re just animals. There will be a rematch, or an opponent that will bring me closer to the title.”
Procházka spoke about the problems in preparation
As is common knowledge, it’s rare for fighters to go through an entire preparation without any problems or injuries. Going into a fight 100% healthy? That’s not very common. And it is also confirmed in the case of the Moravian samurai.
Jiri Prochazka has been in a lot of trouble since he confirmed the fight. “We had 5 training weeks before the match, when I could train to the fullest. I trained fully for about six days. Two weeks took illness, antibiotics, bumps and other ailments. It piled up out of nowhere. I didn’t understand it,” the former UFC welterweight king let slip.
Once his ear swelled up, so he had to treat the inflammation with antibiotics. Later, for example, he bumped his elbow. He says a lot of things happened. But he’s not looking for excuses. On the contrary. He thinks Alex Pereira may have had problems too. The BJP just wanted to show people how wrestlers get hurt.
But now he’s fully focused on his comeback. “I wasn’t born to lose,” he is clear. So he wants to channel all his energy into a positive and come back as strong as possible.
