Several stars of leading European clubs will have their contracts expire at the end of June. They will be a hot commodity on the market as clubs will not have to pay a transfer fee for them. Who all will be available for free?

Gareth Bale

One of Real Madrid’s biggest stars of recent times. When he transferred from Tottenham in 2013, Los Blancos paid a then absolutely astronomical €101 million for him. Bale helped Real to win the Champions League in his very first season.

However, after a very good start, Bale’s character was on full display. His relationship with Zinedine Zidane can be described as more than strained. In some statements, Bale even preferred playing golf to playing for Real Madrid.

There were speculations whether the Welshman will end his career after this season, but in the end everything will be different as Bale has made it to the World Cup in Qatar with his national team.

Christian Eriksen

The Danish midfielder has made a great showing in the Premier League since his return to football. There is a lot of interest in his services, not least because he only signed a six-month contract with Brentford in the winter.

The fact that the Dane will be available for free attracts mainly Tottenham London. Manchester United are also reportedly interested. So it will be very difficult for Brentford to renew the expired contract with Eriksen.

Paul Pogba

The French midfielder is leaving Manchester United for the second time for free. In 2012, he left for Juventus with a reputation as a great talent, but he didn’t get a proper opportunity at the Red Devils.

The Italian engagement has really worked out for him. Pogba became a key player in the first team, with whom he even managed to reach the Champions League final. Moreover, his excellent performances earned him a transfer back to Manchester United.

Since this transfer, his performances have been on a roll. He was supposed to be the Premier League’s biggest star, but he hasn’t been. Now Pogba will be looking to kick-start his career in a new engagement, with the media speculating mainly about a return to Juventus.

Paulo Dybala

The 28-year-old Argentine’s career has been on a downward trend in recent years. He has become a substitute in the Argentine national team, and did not go to last year’s Copa America due to frequent injuries that limited him in the previous part of the season.

According to Transfermarkt, Inter Milan and Tottenham Hotspur are most interested in Dybala

Ousmane Dembélé

He was supposed to be a replacement for Neymar, but the transfer of the French winger did not work out for Barcelona at all. Constant injuries have always sidelined Dembélé for large parts of the season.

Barcelona did offer Dembélé a contract, but it was not met with high demands from the player.
