Leroy Sané had the first chance of the match in the third minute, but missed the back post by a whisker. Six minutes later, the visitors were celebrating. A neat one-touch combination was closed down by Sadio Mané alone in front of Jindřich Stanek.
And Plzeň’s dismantling continued, with Thomas Müller finishing alone in front of the goalkeeper in the 13th minute. And although Plzen played more boldly than away, Leon Goretzka increased the score to 3:0 in the 25th minute with a shot from distance.
On the other side, Jhon Mosquera and Tomas Chorý had a unique chance, but the away goalkeeper made a good save in both cases. Bayern continued to be almost 100 percent, with Goretzka beating Stanek in the 35th minute.
Pilsen withstood the final pressure before the half-time break and went into the cabins with the score 0:4. After the change of sides, it was as if the visitors’ heads stayed in the dressing room. Erik Jirka could have taken advantage, but from an angle he shot only into the side netting.
Viktoria pressed and in the 61st minute they rejoiced. Adam Vlkanova tapped the ball in on the whitewash, Sven Ulreich had no chance. The pace of the game dropped considerably, Bayern were just finishing the game, but in the 74th minute Pilsen scored again.
Jan Kliment, a substitute striker, put a shot through the visitors’ goalkeeper. After the change of sides, Bayern only hit the crossbar once. The result 2::4 ensured Bayern’s promotion.
