Champions League
Pilsen will be seeded in the last round. If it wants to be in next year, it has to win a lot
Viktoria Plzeň is having a very good week. After a big win over HJK Helsinki 5:0, they advanced to the third round of the Champions League and secured at least the Conference League, and thanks to the success of the Turkish champion, they will eventually be seeded in the 4th round.

Assuming that all the favourites advance from the second round, Pilsen should be unseeded for the 4th round. However, Olympiakos surprisingly crashed out against Maccabi Haifa and Viktoria jumped into the group of seeded clubs.
In Tuesday’s draw, Plzeň could get Turkish champion Trabzonspor, or the winner of the Bodo/Glimt vs. Zalgiris Vilnius, Maccabi Haifa vs. Apollon Limassol and Ferencváros Budapest vs. Karabakh pairs.
On the other hand, Viktoria will avoid Copenhagen, Denmark, and the winners of Ludogorets Razgrad vs. Dinamo Zagreb, Crvena Zvezda Belgrade vs. Pjunik Yerevan. It was against Zagreb that Plzen played its last cup match in spring 2019, if the qualifiers are not taken into account.
Before the Champions League play-offs, however, the Westcountrymen have to deal with the Moldovan obstacle. Sherif Tiraspol shone in the LM group last year and although they have significantly changed their squad ahead of this season, they cannot be underestimated.
But Plzen need to progress and pick up points in the coefficient, they would not be seeded in such a situation a year from now. Currently, its coefficient would drop from 31,000 to 18,000, which would be a very significant drop.
