Petra Kvitová returned to the top ten tennis players on the WTA circuit only two weeks ago. In Monday’s edition of the rankings, she is no longer in the elite list, as she was unable to defend her triumph in Stuttgart.
Earlier this week, we could find Kvitova at number ten in the WTA rankings with a ranking of 4530. She had a forty-point lead over the eleventh-ranked Bertens.
But the thirty-one-year-old Czech tennis player and two-time Wimbledon winner was unable to defend her triumph from 2019 in Stuttgart.
On German clay, Kvitova won her matches against Brady and Sakkari, before falling to Svitolina in the quarter-finals.
She lost 370 points, which means that she will be ranked 12th on Monday. Ahead of her will be Bencic and Bertens, who still can’t find her ideal form after her injury.
The last Czech representative in the elite ten will be Pliskova. The former world number one currently occupies the ninth position, with only 190 points separating her from Williams.
The third highest ranked Czech on the WTA circuit is Muchová. She has 2,781 points, which puts her in 20th place. This is also her lifetime best.
