The Czech Republic is close to having two more domestic fighters in the UFC. Matěj Peňáz and Tereza Bledá will fight for a contract in Dana White’s Contender Series. Who will they face and on what date?
First, let’s take a look at Matej Peňáz. The 25-year-old fighter has only six fights in MMA, but he won all of them without much trouble.
Still, the offer for Dana White’s Contender Series was quite surprising, with many claiming he still has time. But the chance has come, and there’s no reason not to take it.
Peñaz will fight on August 30, his opponent will be Sedriques Dumas, a year older American with the exact same wrestling streak.
Tereza Bledé is still only 20 years old and for her the chance was certain to come, it was just a matter of when. Bledá has 5 fights in professional MMA and has yet to taste the bitterness of defeat.
Like Peñaz, she got an opponent who also didn’t lose. Nayara Arnault Maia Correia is a thirty-one year old Brazilian who has won 6 fights in professional MMA, drawing once.
Their fight will take place a week later than Peñaza’s, on September 6. So, at the end of the summer holidays, MMA fans certainly have something to look forward to.
