Paul Pogba, who is one of the biggest stars in both Manchester United and France’s selection, was injured at Monday’s training session. He has been dropped from France’s roster for the upcoming qualifying matches they will play against Kazakhstan and Finland.
The French international injured his right thigh during Monday’s training session. He left the training area with team doctor Franck Le Galle.
France is not counting on Pogba for the upcoming two matches due to the injury. His place on the roster has been taken by AS Roma’s Jordan Veretout. The French will play their last matches at home against Kazakhstan and away against Finland.
For now, the French national team is in first place in Group D with a three-point lead over second-placed Ukraine and a four-point lead over third-placed Finland. Ukraine has one more game played than the first and third teams.
If France beats Kazakhstan on home soil, they can enjoy promotion to the 2022 World Cup.
Pogba has missed Manchester United’s last two games due to suspension. He will now miss France’s two games due to injury. After the national break, he will not play one more match due to a red card, but after that he will be fully available to his team.
