Patrik Schick had a perfect season! His Bayer Leverkusen qualified for the prestigious Champions League and his individual performances earned him a sensational 24 goals. The only thing that held him back slightly was health problems. However, despite missing seven Bundesliga games, he still made his mark in the table of top Czech scorers in the Top 5 leagues!

Thanks to his phenomenal numbers, Patrik Schick became the second top scorer in the Bundesliga, just behind Polish sniper Robert Lewandowski, who scored 35 goals.
The prestigious statistics site WhoScored awarded the Czech national team forward a beautiful average rating of 7.45 for his Bundesliga games. That’s the fifth highest mark of any player in the league.
However, Schick’s 2021/22 season is not only adorned with these beautiful actual dates. The 26-year-old striker has also made Czech football history, and significantly so!
If we look at the history of Czech legionnaires in the top 5 European leagues, Patrik Schick has climbed to second place in the number of goals scored in a single season.
He was easily ahead of Jan Koller or Pavel Kuka. Only Josef Humpál, who scored 26 goals in France in the 1948/49 season, is still ahead of Schick.
Anyway, the question is whether the French top flight was among the top 5 leagues in Europe at that time. Before WWII, many believe it was not. After the war, however, many foreign stars came to France and the quality of the league rose rapidly.
In the context of the times, it is difficult to evaluate and compare. Anyway, Patrik Schick literally rewrote the Czech football textbooks.
