Pastrnak scored his 17th NHL hat trick

In the Boston Bruins vs. Ottawa Senators (6:2), Czech forward David Pastrnak scored his second hat-trick of the season and 17th of his career against Ottawa. He moved up to fourth place in the scorers’ table with 44 goals.

Only Sam Reinhart and Zach Hyman are ahead of him with 48 goals. American Auston Matthews leads the scorers’ table with 55 goals. Pastrnak is also fourth in the Canadian scoring and is just one point away from breaking the 100-point mark, which he surpassed for the first time last season.

The Czech forward already had two goals after the first period, giving the Bruins a 2-0 lead. And he completed his 17th career hat trick in the third period at 4:43, when Boston took a decisive 4:2 lead. He scored with a traditional backhand shot.

After 70 games, Pastrňák has 99 points on 44 goals and 55 assists and is having his second best season of his career.

By the end of the regular season, he should most likely break the 50-goal mark for the second time in his career. And he’ll certainly pass the 100-point mark for the second time in his career as well.

With 17 hat tricks, he is also the second best player in Boston’s club history. Only the legendary Phil Esposito is ahead of him with 26 hat-tricks. In addition, the Czech canon has already scored 345 goals for Boston. And he´s moving him ahead of Cam Neely into seventh place on the club’s scoring charts.

Pasta received the Player of the Game award for this great performance against Ottawa. But most importantly, he also received a bearskin, which he appreciates immensely! “I wonder how they got it to the rink. After the game I gave them my hockey stick for this special gift,” he laughed to the cameras after the game.
