Pastrňák continues his shooting form, Zohorna and Hertl also made their mark. Vejmelka won the battle of Czech goaltenders
Another NHL round is over and, as usual, David Pastrňák scored again. Tomáš Hertl and Radim Zohorna also scored and Karel Vejmelka celebrated his victory with a large number of saves.
Another NHL round is over and, as usual, David Pastrňák scored again. Tomáš Hertl and Radim Zohorna also scored and Karel Vejmelka celebrated his victory with a large number of saves.
David Pastrňák didn’t stop his goaltending in Los Angeles either. He contributed a goal to his Bruins’ victory over the local Kings and added two assists on top of that. “Pasta” was able to score in the first period and led his team to a 4:2 victory.
The star of the game, however, was David’s teammate and captain Brad Marchand. He scored twice, added an assist and was deservedly named the star of the game.
And it is worth mentioning his goal for 3:1, which was made by Pavel Zacha and Pastrňák. With a perfect combination, they managed to completely disrupt the Kings’ defence and especially Pastrňák’s backhand shot was exclusive.
Karel Vejmelka came out victorious from the duel of the Czech goaltenders, making 32 successful saves, letting only one puck behind his back and contributing to the 2:1 victory of his Arizona Coyotes over the Arizona Ducks, for whom Lukáš Dostál stood in goal. The Coyotes won their opening home game for the first time since the 2016/2017 season.
Vejmelka deservedly became the first star of the game thanks to his great performance. The 27-year-old goalkeeper has a 2-1-0 record this season and has made at least 33 saves in every start this year.
“It was a great battle. Everybody was looking forward to the first home game and everybody enjoyed it. It was just a great experience,” Vejmelka said after the game.
Other top moments
The San Jose Sharks are not doing well this year. One of the few bright spots in their darkness is the performance of Tomas Hertl. He was the only one of the Sharks who was able to score in the game against the Nashville Predators, which ended in a tough 1:5 loss for Hertl’s team.
Radim Zohorna was called up from the farm and played for the Pittsburgh Penguins against the St. Louis Blues. And right away, he was able to score! His goal, however, only changed the unfavorable result for the Penguins to 2: 4.
The Las Vegas Golden Knights became the first Stanley Cup champions to start the season with 6 consecutive triumphs. They added another bead with a 5-3 win against the Chicago Blackhawks. The first goal on home ice was scored after 90 seconds of the game by this year’s number one draft pick Connor Bedard.
