As expected, Tereza Bledá got a chance to fight in Dana White’s Contender Series for a contract in the prestigious MMA organization UFC. Now she has shared her feelings about this huge challenge with the public.
Dana White’s Contender Series will offer another domestic fight, the chance to fight for a contract in the prestigious UFC was also given to the Czech Republic’s Tereza Bledá.
The 20-year-old MMA fighter, who has won all five of her professional fights, was a hot candidate for the challenge and earlier speculation has now been confirmed.
“We spent a lot of time discussing with the management about work visas in case there was a case that I could replace someone on short notice. Overall, Andre (Reinders) and I pushed a lot to get a contract or a Contender deal.
And when I say pushed a lot, I was probably the most annoying creature in the world (laughs),” Pale MMA Shorties said. “Honestly, we talked Contender a lot back in the fall of 2021 where it looked like it might happen, but it was too early.
I needed more fights and the OKTAGON title helped a lot with that too. One morning in early April, my manager texted me: Hey, what are you doing on August 30? Because you’re going to be in Contender! I was originally supposed to fight on the same card as Matej Peñáz, but they moved it.
I was the happiest person in the world at that moment. I didn’t sign the contract until about a month after I found out I was going to be there. Probably because two of my opponents turned me down at first and I was looking for a third,” said the Czech fighter.
She already knows her opponent, but she and her team cannot announce her before the UFC itself decides. So let’s keep our fingers crossed for Tereza to make her dream come true.
